HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY AND GOOD LABOR PRACTICES

Many different types of people, including customers, suppliers and staff frequent hotels and lodges, and while it is almost impossible to predict when one person will compromise the human rights of another individual, it is important that you understand how to manage this risk to ensure the protection of the welfare of vulnerable groups, including minors, and ensure that they are treated fairly and respectfully regardless of sexuality, gender, age, ethnicity, religion or disability.

Minura Hotels is aware of its influence in the fulfillment of Human Rights, therefore, and within the framework of our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, we establish the following principles:

  • Comply with all laws and regulations in labor management. Our employees will receive a living wage, following the community’s Hospitality Collective Bargaining Agreement and will work the correct number of hours, complying with the national employment law.
  • We value our people and treat them fairly and respectfully, ensuring that no discrimination is allowed against anyone, regardless of age, sexuality, gender, ethnicity, religion, culture or disability.
  • Candidates for a job will not suffer any type of discrimination either in the selection process or during the development of their work once the contract has been formalized.
  • We encourage the development of our personnel in their jobs, improving their capabilities with training and professional development opportunities.
  • Our personnel are free to join a union or similar organization established to protect and represent employee rights.
  • We engage our staff on our sustainability commitments, so that they understand their part in meeting our objectives.
  • We monitor sustainability indicators related to good labor practices.
  • The UNWTO (World Tourism Organization) Global Code of Ethics for Tourism establishes that the exploitation of human beings, in any form, especially sexual exploitation, and particularly when it affects children and adolescents, violates the fundamental objectives of tourism and constitutes a negation of its essence. There is a commitment to train the company’s personnel to know and behave according to practices and policies for the protection of children and adolescents against commercial sexual exploitation, and for the proper handling of situations of this nature that may arise in the course of their work, encouraging them to act as preventive agents of this problem. Likewise, we encourage our clients to collaborate by communicating to the Management any strange behavior they may detect, either from employees or from other clients.

  • Management seeks to be aware of Local Community issues that may affect their lives and tries to ensure that their views are considered by the company’s decision making.
